Peace of mind

We keep a Photographic  library of all the jewellery if ever needed for identification, for lost or stolen insurance claims. This has proven to be the single, most important thing you can do, to recover your valuables.

Diamonds

The weight of a diamond is measured in carats. A carat is divided in 100 points so that a diamond of 50 points equals 1/2 a carat. A round brilliant cut diamond of 1 carat has an approximate diameter of 6.6mm.The word carat originates from the Greek word keration, referring to the shape of the seedpods of the carob tree. The seeds are small and uniform in size and weight; therefore, they were a standard for weighing gemstones in early times.

Sapphires

The most common colour is Blue, but can be colourless, pink, orange, yellow, green, purple, and black. Burmese sapphires have a deep blue that is intense and velvety. These sapphires are not often seen on the market today. Sri Lankan sapphires are the most common, with a wide range of colours from very light to dark blue. Other producers of blue sapphire are Australia, Madagascar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Montana.

Emerald

The Stone of Peace

Fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds. Emeralds are fascinating gemstones. Colombian emeralds are among the world's most beautiful. They have the most wonderful, most intense and most radiant green. Quality emeralds are also found in India, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, and Zimbabwe.  Inclusions are tolerated. In top quality jewelry. The name emerald comes from the Greek 'smaragdos' via the Old French 'esmeralde', and really just means 'green gemstone'.
